SRF Online Inspirational Services

Each inspirational service will be posted for an entire week and then replaced the following weekend with a new talk.

This Week:

“Taking Shelter in God” by Brother Satyananda

In this inspirational service SRF minister Brother Satyananda explores ways that we can embrace the idea of “Taking Shelter in God” by understanding the guidance found in Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings.

Seeking the protective shelter of the Divine is a choice we can all make, Brother Satyananda explains, just as we would choose to seek shelter from a storm. When the trials of life suddenly encroach on us, “are we putting first our fear, or are we putting first our faith?” If we take shelter in God with devotion, we can, in Paramahansaji’s words, “become established in supreme peace and find eternal freedom in Him.”

This inspirational service was recorded at the SRF Lake Shrine Temple in Pacific Palisades, California.

Our New Temple Has A Name!

Mother Center has announced the name of our new Temple in Walnut Creek:
Bay Area Temple of Self-Realization Fellowship.

Brother Chidananda expressed the need for the name to be inclusive for members through-out the Bay Area and the location to be identifiable by those living elsewhere.

This marks another step forward in our eventual move to our long-awaited and long-sought-for permanent home.

Currently the Lutherans are busy clearing the accumulations of 50 years of worshiping and care-taking the beautiful property. We wish them well as they move forward.

2020 World Convocation

From SRF Mother Center:
Convocation 2020: Important Announcement

The city of Los Angeles is currently under strict “stay at home” orders because of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Due to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s recent announcement that large public gatherings will not be permitted anytime soon and perhaps not before 2021, and after discussion with the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, we have had to cancel the in-person events for this year’s Convocation.

Though we must cancel our coming together in-person this year, we are going to present a wide range of the 2020 SRF World Convocation events online, transforming this international spiritual gathering into an event capable of reaching thousands more worldwide. Details will be announced soon.

At this time all SRF Temple Meditations and Inspirational Services have been cancelled until further notice.
