ReCovid19 Outbreak and Temple Services

At this time all temple inspirational, meditation, or commemorative services will be held as scheduled.

If the current coronavirus situation changes and local ordinances recommend the cancellation of religious gatherings, we will follow that guidance and promptly communicate the information to you.

Mahasamdhi Commemoration Service

Mahasamadhi of our Paramguru, Swami Sri Yukteswar

The Commemoration Service and Meditation will be led by Brother Ritananda and Brahmachari Troy.

Traditional symbolic offerings of a flower and monetary donation are given during these services.

Six-Hour Meditation

Saturday, March 29 |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm  |  Main Chapel

The Temple Six Hour Meditations consist of periods of silent mediation lasting approximately 40 – 45 minutes. 

Chanting, accompanied by the temple kirtan group, occurs between meditation periods.

To provide the optimum meditation experience, silence from all vocal sounds and stillness of physical movements is requested.

If anyone is new to attending SRF meditation, please review the SRF meditation Guidelines to become familiar with the experience of meditating in groups of SRF members.

If it is necessary to leave the chapel, please do so only during chanting.

The meditation begins with the SRF Energization Exercises which were developed by Paramahansa Yogananda. Participation in the exercises is optional.

Registration is now open for the San Damiano Retreat. Mary Moffitt is available after Sunday Services to take registrations and answer questions. 

Brother Jayananda will be with us to lead the retreat.

2020 – Centennial Year of Self-Realization Fellowship

The year 2020 marks a profoundly significant milestone in the history of Self-Realization Fellowship — the 100th anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda’s arrival in America from his native India, and his founding of Self-Realization Fellowship, the worldwide spiritual organization he established to disseminate his Kriya Yoga teachings.

To commemorate this auspicious occasion, SRF is planning a number of special events throughout 2020.
