In an effort to make the previously scheduled Thursday evening Learn to Meditate Class accessible to more people,
the temple will hold the class quarterly on Sunday at 10:00 am.

Brother Jayananda will give simple yet profound methods of meditation and provide
an introduction to the Kriya Yoga teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.

NEBT Visualization Program

We will be using Master’s techniques of visualization and positive thinking to help us concentrate our thoughts, prayers, and visualizations for the New East Bay Temple.

The program will be led by lay-disciples. Brother Ritananda will give an introduction.

Join SRF/YSS President, Brother Chidananda, for the launch of the Self-Realization Fellowship Online Meditation Center which reaches across the globe allowing members from distant and near quarters to experience meditating together.

Brother Chidananda will lead the first official guided meditation conducted by the newly established SRF online meditation center.

Starting on October 7, a full schedule of weekly meditations will be available to members and friends around the world.

The day will consist of morning meditation accompanied by the kirtan group.

The afternoon portion will be the DVD of Sri Daya Mata’s satsanga: Beholding God in the Temple of All Life followed by a closing meditation. 

Recorded at the SRF Mother Center in 1982 the satsanga allows everyone to experience the uplifting atmosphere of joy, wisdom, and devotion that flowed as a tangible presence from Sri Daya Mata to all who met her.

Devotees traditionally bring a flower as a devotional offering to symbolize their loyalty to the teachings.

Due to many members attending the SRF World Convocation in Los Angeles, Sunday School is cancelled today.

The staff and children have turned the primary classroom into a beautiful ‘Babaji Cave’ which will remain in place through this week.

Everyone is invited to visit the ‘cave’ – it is an inspiring achievement.

Mahavatar Babaji Commemoration

Paramahansa Yogananda has written in Autobiography of a Yogi that the deathless avatar has resided for untold years in the remote Himalayan regions of India, revealing himself only rarely to a blessed few.

Satsanga Service

Satsanga is a term used to describe a ‘coming together for Truth’.

At Berkeley Temple the Satsanga Service is an opportunity for members to receive answers to their pre-written spiritual questions which will be addressed by our ministers during the monthly Satsanga Services. 

Pre-written questions may be submitted in one of two ways:

 1. Placed in the box located in the back of the Main Chapel titled Satsanga Questions.
  2. By using the form at berkeleytemple.org. 

All questions will be considered and answered at the minister’s discretion

 

 

Temple Picnic Potluck

The annual picnic is a favorite opportunity to get together in a casual setting and enjoy the company of our SRF spiritual family and friends.  Flier and Map

Mahavatar Babaji Commemoration

Paramahansa Yogananda has written in Autobiography of a Yogi that the deathless avatar has resided for untold years in the remote Himalayan regions of India, revealing himself only rarely to a blessed few.

The traditional gift of a flower, as a symbol of devotion, will be offered by devotees during the service.

 

 

Six Hour Meditation

Saturday, July 27   |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm  |  Main Chapel  |  Minister

The Six Hour meditations consist of periods of silent mediation lasting approximately 40 – 45 minutes. 

Chanting, accompanied by the temple kirtan group, occurs between meditation periods. 

To provide the optimum meditation experience, silence from all vocal sounds and stillness of physical movements is requested.

Please review the SRF meditation guidelines. If it is necessary to leave the chapel, please do so only during chanting. 

The meditation begins with the SRF Energization Exercises which were developed by Paramahansa Yogananda. Participation is optional.

Due to many members attending the SRF World Convocation in Los Angeles, Temple Services will be as follows:

Sunday Services are held as usual: 8/4 and 8/11

Cancelled:

Livestream Events:
The temple will host 2 livestream Events from the World Convocation.
Doors open 30 minutes before each event. Admission is free.

SRF Lessons New Edition 

This greatly enhanced and expanded edition of the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons is now available. This new edition contains a wealth of additional material from Paramahansaji’s writings and classes, including clearer and more detailed instruction on the SRF meditation techniques and many other subjects.

For those of you who are already a graduate of the SRF Lessons, the availability of the revised Lessons presents a unique opportunity to renew one’s relationship with the Guru and study of the SRF teachings.

All SRF members will be sent an email linked to their personal SRF account with instructions on how to receive the new lessons.
