Satsanga is a term used to describe a ‘coming together for Truth’.

At Berkeley Temple the Satsanga Service is an opportunity for members to receive answers to their pre-written spiritual questions which will be addressed by our ministers during the monthly Satsanga Services.

All questions will be considered and answered at the minister’s discretion.

Pre-written questions may be submitted in one of two ways:
 1. Placed in the box located in the back of the Main Chapel titled Satsanga Questions.
 2. By using the form at berkeleytemple.org.

The temple will celebrate the birth of Bhagavan Sri Krishna with a minister-led service preceded by a meditation.

Brahmachari Sarat will lead the kirtan group during periods of chanting for the mediation and commemorative service.

Devotees traditionally bring a flower as a devotional offering to symbolize their loyalty to the teachings.

General Meeting of the Congregation

Sunday, August 25  |  12:30 pm  |  Main Chapel

Everyone is encouraged to attend the General Meeting of the Congregation.

Brother Jayananda will update the congregation with temple news.

 Six Hour Meditation

Saturday, August 31  |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm  |  Main Chapel

The Six Hour meditations consist of periods of silent mediation lasting approximately 40 – 45 minutes.

Chanting, accompanied by the temple kirtan group, occurs between meditation periods.

To provide the optimum meditation experience, silence from all vocal sounds and stillness of physical movements is requested.

Please review the SRF meditation guidelines. If it is necessary to leave the chapel, please do so only during chanting.

The meditation begins with the SRF Energization Exercises which were developed by Paramahansa Yogananda. Participation is optional.

Temple Day of Service

Everyone is invited to attend the monthly temple maintenance day. No special skills are needed.

Temple Day Retreat

Saturday, September 28  |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm  |  Main Chapel

All are welcome to attend the Fall Retreat which will be led by Brother Jayananda.

The day will consist of morning meditation accompanied by the kirtan group.

The afternoon portion will be the DVD of Sri Daya Mata’s satsanga: Beholding God in the Temple of All Life followed by a closing meditation.

Recorded at the SRF Mother Center in 1982 the satsanga allows everyone to experience the uplifting atmosphere of joy, wisdom, and devotion that flowed as a tangible presence from Sri Daya Mata to all who met her.
