SRF Online Inspirational Services

During the current difficult times—in which SRF temples, centers, and groups have had to temporarily cancel Sunday services—we will be offering inspirational services online. Through the services presented here, you can join Paramahansa Yogananda’s worldwide spiritual family in weekly divine fellowship.

Each inspirational service will be posted for an entire week and then replaced the following weekend with a new talk. If you subscribe to our Newsletter you will receive an email notification when the new video has been posted.

This Week:

Brother Chidananda at the SRF World Convocation (2015)
“Strengthening Character by Developing Spiritual Courage and Endurance”

In this talk, given at the 2015 SRF World Convocation, SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda leads the audience in the practice of several powerful affirmations and offers encouragement for successfully facing life’s difficulties.

The text of these affirmations, for those who wish to use them again, can be found in Where There Is Light by Paramahansa Yogananda, in chapter 14, “How to Use Thoughts of Immortality to Awaken Your True Self.”

Joining Worldwide to Pray Throughout the Day

SRF has announced a new worldwide prayer initiative. In the Self-Realization Fellowship and Yogoda Satsanga Society of India ashrams of Paramahansa Yogananda, all the monastics will be praying for the world and all those in need at specific times of the day, and we invite those who wish to do so to join in this collective effort — at those times or any other time that fits into your daily routine

Following are the times that the monks and nuns at the SRF International Headquarters and other locations in California will be offering these healing prayers: (All times in P.D.T.):

  •   7:50 – 8:00 a.m.
  • 12:50 – 1:00 p.m.

Brother Chidananda wanted to make this meditation service available online since many SRF temples, centers, and groups worldwide have canceled their Sunday services.

Guidance and Encouragement

“God is the only harbor of safety from the storms of this world. “Take shelter in Him
with all the eagerness of thy heart. By His grace thou shalt obtain the utmost peace
     and the Eternal Shelter”
—Paramahansa Yogananda.

A source of inspiration and upliftment relating to this challenging time are excerpts of our guru’s writings that are on the SRF Mother Center website. Brother Bhumananda mentions this page  during his talk in this weeks Inspirational Online Service.  → Excerpts of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Another source of guidance which Brother Chidananda encourages us to have is “Where There is Light” – Insight and Inspiration for Meeting Life’s Challenges.

The current Covid-19 precautions prevents Mother Center from shipping publications but this publication and others from SRF are available at: – Where There is Light.

SRF Online Meditation Center – ‘A Bridge Over Troubled Waters’

“In this time of social-distancing, OMC is soul-gathering.”

With social-distancing affecting members globally and SRF services halted, the daily online meditations give devotees the bridge on which to gather together (upwards to 1,000 and more at a time) in meditation and in joining the World Wide Prayer Circle.

Those who have been attending the meditations know the profound value they offer. For those who are yet unfamiliar to the online meditations, words are inadequate to describe the transformative power they add to one’s daily sadhana.

For more information on the OMC please see the details in SRF NEWS below ↓.

Yogananda Seva

The motivation behind the formation of YS is the reaching into the vast pool of SRF/YSS lay disciples to expand support of our Guru’s mission and worldwide community of followers, which has given birth to the Online Meditation Center along with upcoming ways for devotees to join together globally as a united family in serving the work of SRF.

YS is now an international community of members of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) and Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), offering SRF members ways to serve the SRF global family.

“Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators.
Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by
the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”
