Day of Service

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s temple service day. Many projects were completed and brought up to date while spiritual fellowship was enjoyed throughout the day.

The next Day of Service is January 26, 2019.

 

 

Lessons Study Group

There will be no Lessons Study Group tomorrow, Monday, November 12th due to the Veterans day holiday.

The Lessons Study Group will resume on Monday, November 19th at 7:00 pm..

 

 

Learn to Meditate Class

Thursday November 15th  |  7:00 pm

Family and friends are invited to attend a Learn to Meditate Class.

Brother Jayananda will give simple yet profound methods of meditation and provide an introduction to the Kriya Yoga teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.  Flier

 

Thanksgiving Retreat

Saturday, November 17th  |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The annual Thanksgiving retreat will be led by Brother Jayananda accompanied by Brahmachari Sarat who will lead the kirtan group.

The retreat will consist of a morning meditation, spiritual inspiration, and an afternoon showing of the film of a talk given by Brother Anandamoy titled, Cultivating Deeper Faith.

Please refrain from wearing colognes and scented lotions so as not to be a distraction to others.  Flier

 

Thanksgiving Tea and Pie Social

Sunday, November 18th  |  12:00 – 2:00 pm
 
The Thanksgiving Sweet and Savory Pie Social follows the Sunday services. The temple is providing pumpkin pie and tea.

If you wish to contribute a favorite holiday pie please bring it to the kitchen before the 11:00 am service. Both savory and sweet pies are welcomed. 

A sign-up sheet is on the Information Table for those who would like to volunteer in the kitchen preparing and serving the pies.  Flier

 

Six Hour Meditation

Saturday, November 24th  |  10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Lay-Disciple led meditation

Six Hour Meditations are held in the Main Chapel. Entry is through the Woolsey Street door.

After the meditation has begun, the Main Chapel door will open only during periods of chanting which occur on the hour.
